ok, so it's been a while since i have blogged...but we are so so incredibly busy it's nuts! i got home from work at 4am the past 2 nights...sooo needless to say blogging has fallen by the wayside...BUT one of my favorite parts of Christmas is getting cards...i cant even throw them out when it's over...well, at least the ones w/photos on them=)....soooo we are at work all day everyday and laura and i were thinking about how we would think our clients send some AMAZING holiday cards and WE WANT TO SEE EM'...LOL! Yes, we get pathetically excited when there is "fun mail" in the work mailbox....so we are gonna send our favorite 50 gift certificates that can be redeemed in 2009...all you have to do is drop us your creative card and we will pick our top 50 and post them...sounds like fun doesnt it? we hope your up for the challenge bc shipping labels, colorful plates and tees are starting to get a little monotonous (sp?..oh well=)...sooo with that explained....START SENDIN' THEM OUR WAY:

The innovative cart escalator

Once again any out of work camera men should contact us. Reality TV show is in the making and today could have been the premier....

Well, we just about died on the cart escalator at Ikea! We finally made it out of there with 3, yes 3 carts of stuff packed to the gills. We had to get one of the workers there to help us to the car. Just to set the scene, the worker was Latino and did not speak English but I do believe he understood most of what we said. So we all get on the escalator I was in front, Laura next and the guy behind. About a third of the way down all kinds of stuff falls off of the bottom of my cart and wedges under the wheel. I kept asking Laura what to do and she was just like "put the things back or pick up the front and roll it off"!! Anyway, that didn't work so when the cart gets to the bottom it gets stuck on the floor and won't move... so guess what... cart pile up. Laura ran into my cart and had to ram it to get it unstuck. In the meantime, I look back at the guy helping us and he has this "Oh crap" look on his face and has to run backwards in place to keep from pinning Laura between the carts. So finally Laura gets my cart out of the way and hers still won't move. My purse somehow made its way between her front wheel and the floor. Leather is a pretty good gripper! Anyway, as you can tell we did survive and are back in the car headed toward Tennessee.

...sooo long time NO blogging...and soooo much to blog about just cant find time...REALLY....laura and i were working about 18 hour days ...no exaggeration whatsoever!...the hubby left town for TWO WEEKS--4 kids starting school (2 preKers, second grader and fourth grader...AHHHHHH)...thank the good lord for "nana" at times like these! Needless to say this thing we call "emtannerdesigns" is gettin' NUTSO...outgrowing the house, the manufacturers corner they so graciously have let me inhabit the past year!....sooooo wasnt sure what to do and low and behold a warehouse nearly 3000 square feet just fell into my lap!! AND it is getting a TOTAL facelift and gonna be like brand new in a few weeks! I am probably about a week or two away from starting production at my OWN REAL PLACE every day HOPEFULLY from 9-5 w/a few new employees (already have one newbie trained and workin')!!! This is literally a dream come true! i can get my house back, my family time back, have some sort of a life outside my crazily growing biz that i cant leave bc it is

EVERYWHERE i am!=)=)=)! I hope i am seeing the light!!! Ill post pics of the PLACE "emtannerdesigns" as soon as i can find them on my camera...it is starting to look like my kinda place...the walls were painted this weekend a great apple green w/white ceilings, windows, doors, etc....and the best part---shi*tons of PEG BOARD walls!!!! SWWWEEEETTT! more soon.

okay, i am sure there are plenty of peeps cursing me wondering where the heck i am....sorry but our yearly family beach vacation was this past week and because i have spent my last year (well 2 years) serving all my great loyal customers....my family deserved me this week=)...really i do get wrapped up in this growing biz sometimes too much and it was their turn....i worked non stop till 5:30 am the 3 nights before leaving and did all that i possibly could and just had to stop, pack and leave....now i am back and will pick right back where i left off and i do apologize to any who have been hunting me down but our beachhouse has spotty wireless connections and by mid week NO WIRELESS CONNECTION (not always such a bad thing but it does drive me batty=)....soooo we met up w/ a fellow photographer i met at my last rosemary beach trunk show at Gigi's and she shot our family as i am NEVER in any of our family pics bc i am always "behind the lens"....which yes i do prefer but i also want the kiddos to believe me that i did go on vacation w/them all these years....anyway, she is great and one of my favorite photographers out there (she and sheye rosemeyer are at the top of my lists!)....here is the link to our sneak peek...just thought i'd share:

A Fresh New Look For Em Tanner Designs!...

I just love the simplicity and "to the point" of this new logo! Knew i needed a new one as i am not so into the "paper"or photography part of the biz these days-so that girl w/the camera is out of place AND i probably do AS MANY if not MORE boys tees than girls....soooo why do i always put a girl on the bag tags?? yep i am a little bassackwards sometimes...oh and on the new tags the 't' will be orange (yea for unisex)... and yes, i know we do other products as well but tees are THE MAIN SHABANG these days! and well...a few other underlying reasons...=)... And of course the "original" funky t had to make it's way on there! Anywho...I just am really happy w/how it turned out and honestly just wanted to post it on here to see if i liked it as much "on screen"...ha! back to work work work....working the old ars off (well i wish i was "working it OFF")...Later.

Next....never mentioned my tees were on OPRAH! And no, i am not implying that they are one of "oprah's favorite things"....just the simple fact that they were on there is exciting enough to me..i mean how often do you get calls/emails out the wazoo saying "OMG i saw your tees on Oprah"....?And of course, i didnt remember to watch so i missed it-or actually i was at disney world....ill catch it next time around though....It was wierd when i was watching the Today show and saw my tees when i had no clue they would be flashed on there....it's just exciting...so i really want to catch this "Montage of big sis/lil sis/lil bro...." (as it was described to me)!

ha! she is the retail sales director..and she is sooo gonna want to kick my ars when she gets on my site in the morning...ha! i crack myself up...i feel like a im box should pop up and be Jill's voice like on lands end's virtual shopping experience..i think retail sales director was the title we made up..ha! We are sooooo official here me and my "staff"...=)! Okay, on a serious note Jill (Jill Johnson that is---yes, Hutton's mom for my blogreaders that dont actually know us...everyone knows who Hutton is!=))...she really has taken over all phone calls/questions/emails regarding retail sales....Laura is now handling the wholesale portion and i am just floating around trying not to go INSANE...which i definitely would if not for these two gems! I LOVE YOU JILL & LAURA..HA...yep i know im crazy it's 2:53 and i am designing new calendars and some Brand spankin' new products....it never stops...would someone pls tell me how to turn it off and sleep, eat, be human again! Not sure if i get "into" valentine's because everything is pink or what...anyone who knows me know about my pink (bubblegum not raspberry) fetish! ha....i think that really is why i have always loved valentines day! This year was packed full of activities...the Valentine's party that Addison and Hadly hosted at the White Balloon was a hit...stressful but a hit!...and def. made for some great photo ops! These tees will soon be available on the site bc they turned out super duper cute! soooo remember them next valentine's day or heck any day really....then Kris is ALWAYS out of town now...pretty much for the past 2 weeks now sooooo needless to say i had 4 little valentine's today....ones who were super excited about the valentines and teacher valentines (as a norm they always have something clever...this year i opted to do the boxes of valentines from target ...strait outta the box....well, couldnt do it...stayed up till about 4 am last night putting together goody bags w/cute tags and doing each teacher one of the new emtannerdesigns i love my hubby tees....these are so fun and everyone is LOVING THEM! Also have them for the kiddos...adds a new twist to the i heart my daddy and mommy tees....ie hildy wore i heart kris today and henry i heart emily.....i think they are funny! so did lots of other peeps that saw them! these matching sets were a surprise for "grandy" at the beach...turned out super cute...and the orange worked great and looked classy mixed w/pink and grey as she is the athletic director (i think) to the lady vols but we didnt want it to look so 'team sporty"...i think we pulled it off!

now for your part...and i need it done SOOOONNNNN bc it will be more fun to use your pics than have to stage a million product photo shoots w/the white background...and i need to get this thing complete so Laura doesnt quit..h=) so please please help me!

Okay, so this is for my new marketing "campaign" so to speak... we are getting ready to start sending wholesale info to the stack of stores that sought me out...amazing to me how they found me...there is like 150 now interested in carrying funky t's...I am oh so thankful and also very glad we waiting to "dive in" until we automated, organized, etc....I know my existing stores will be glad too! It's gonna be great and it shouldnt be too much longer! I literally am working till like 4am to pull this off as fast as possible...I am really having to prioritize these days so just know that i am doing what i can ...literally from about 7am-3 or 4amish most nights...really...i am kinda abnormal these days--dont even need sleep right now...maybe just an adrenaline high bc i see the light at the end of the tunnel...dunno--anyway, so ya wanna get funky is my approach since the stores obviously do bc they contacted me....then i would love to use LOTS of pics (from YOU) of kids in my tees, nanas, gigis, grandpas, big sis', calendars on the walls in action....lunchboxes on the go, plates at the dinnertable (there are TONS of these out there lately!I know there is a set in Alaska bc i just shipped....all girls too please send me pics i'd love to see if you are seeing this... so i had better get some pics of my plates in action)..ha! Ok, so everyday i become more and more baffled by how many people visit my site and my blog...i mean it is just crazy to me and growing daily! I must admit i still take everything personal ... bc to me emtannerdesigns is just me-a crazy mommy of 4 who has a quick temper, we'll just say not always the most lady like vocabulary for a southern gal..oops!.., a stange knack for self teaching pretty much anything i want to do??, and i think just a pretty strait forward "what you see is what you get" kind of gal! Oh and a crappy english student so i hope no one really pays attention to that!

so anyway... i am feelin' the LOVE! I have to admit i am addicted to my stat counter's visitor path....i love to see where everyone is from...some from hong kong, and pretty much all over....I get so excited when my visitor path pages takes me to one of your blogs/friends blogs, etc...it does that when someone has a link on a blog w/my site and people are linking to me from that....so i have stumbled upon quite a few of your blogs that way....ya see, to me because people are posting stuff about emtannerdesigns, adding me to their fave sites, just mentioning my name (which yes, i know is a company to those who dont personally know me) makes me want to know you....so i love reading the blogs and sooo appreciate the "shout outs" i have found in them! What i would do w/o her...okay, well, all the manufacturing is actually on J (sorry J...you are "behind the scenes" so no one knows your name...which i am quite positive you'd prefer to keep it that way! I cannot imagine having more than 2 girls in the house...i was secretly praying for twin boys when i knew twins were in the works..shhh...oh how i love my girls but lord they are dramatic!! Just gave myself a break to check out the "old files" i keep finding that i have never edited....sooo fun...there is some good shit in the archived files! Check out these of the drama queens... Had & I were headed to the broadway annie...hmmm....i decided to eat at Calhoun's because she was wearing Matilda Jane and i'd have some scenery to secretly squeeze in a photo shoot...i am such a nag...one day she'll be glad she has them though I hope! ...One of my fave parts of this pic is the ratty nail polish...i know i am wierd but that is just SOOOO hadly...Lulu is back in the sun...and my wierd fave part of this pic is her cute little doo doo roll messy ponytail...I always tell jill that ml looks so cute "messy cute"...my girls dont ever get "messy cute"...they are either Perfected by mommy (drives my mom crazy that my girls will have their hair washed and dried EVERY MORNING...usually curled a bit too just to get it to flip the right direction...they are trained to stand on the same stool...forbidden to go downstairs until the hair is done...BUT we may not have time to eat breakfast)OR just nasty ars filthy...way beyond the cute part! ha....I know that is awful...they do get to eat in the car though....ok so what i love about this pic is that hildy really is "messy cute" ...woo hoo...I mean sometimes i try to stage this look and cant pull it off for some reason...Kristine has a great "messy cute" little girlie too! if anyone who does photography for a living EVER sees all their pics...just found this and barely even remember taking them..love it though! I need to take a 2 week vacation, lock myself in my office and sift through my family photos, print pics for myself (and my mom of course), etc...it would probably be amazing what i would find and so exciting to take time to do those 4 humongo prints i want to go over the couch but never get to! Here are the infamous funky plates that recently aired on Jon & kate that i keep getting many many emails about! yes, i know they should be on my site ...but truthfully i am still working myself into a frenzy w/year end stuff...counted over 2000 shirts today to get my dad/cpa off my butt...ha! whew...i HATE INVENTORY! Sooooo, next week we will still be taking orders but will technically be "off" to wrap up the printing of all our wholesale books and get 2008 under way and FINE TUNED! I have a stack of i think 135 stores now wanting to carry funky t's which i am so excited a greatful for BUT we want to do it RIGHT!...so we will get the wholesale books to each of you just as soon as they are completed and up to par! At this rate everything MUST be organized or we will go NUTSO! I promise it will be so great and easy we just have to shut everything down to get it done right....after that comes the new and improved website and all the new 08' products, responsibility charts, new tees, world maps, lots of fun plates, babysitter boards, keychains, jewlery (for little girlies), and a brand new line still underway "me to a tee" (no pun intended..ha), wall art, etc. etc. etc!!!...so stay tuned there is so much funkiness in store i cant even name it all! i am driving my household NUTS (except for the babies of course-they got to jump on their beds for 30 minutes..ha!)...working on a foolproof freeze w/my camera for inside shots...making everyone move rapidly in different areas..i am being very annoying but i cant stop until i get it..just my personality...i even get on my own nerves at times!! the babies actually enjoyed getting to jump on the bed...and i liked this shot! London Tipton is really great....this is ringing in my head as i edit pics from our shoot today...2 crazy 6 year old girls sang this song ALL DAY LONG! ha...but it was way worth it...what a super FUN day we had! me and my friend/photography buddy/biz partner/etc...took our girls out to many cool spots we have found and been wanting to do...what a great excuse to get the girls together...they THINK they are playing bc they are together but we (the photography mommas) are having a hayday while they act goofy together...you see, everybody WINS...well except for Kris who was home w/the other 3 kids...Clay got to be "home alone"..ha! sorry Kris but it was sooooo much fun! may have to be a twice a month or so outing! check out these little cute thangs! gotta run assemble Jill's cards (finally) and watch the nanny diaries...gotta get some R&R...good night...lots more fun fun stuff from this shoot to come!

my christmas card that is! This morning as i was stashing envelopes on thackston's porch for a client to pick up it hit me....i make waaaayyyy to big of a deal out of our cards ....BUT i do like to come up with completely ORIGINAL ideas that are MINE and come from my crazy head! And this one is crazy...not the actual card but what we did to accomplish this! After they are mailed i will reveal the funny part so check back! It's actually quite brilliant in an insane sort of way! For now I know this makes zip zilch notta sense BUT I am excited about my cards bc i am finally liking the idea once the lightbulb went off...here is a little sneak peek into the card..not much though..it's gonna be cute even if it's 2008 when you get them! hopefully not but i am still not quite finished w/the work part...whew..worn a double s out!

editing shoots, tees, cards, cutting, scoring, printing...ahhhh....really MUST finish....or i am gonna go crazy...just never seem to be getting to the bottom of the Christmas piles! Only about 7 more sets of cards to get out...im a gettin' there! woo hoo! Oh and Jill's...everyone eagerly anticipating the johnson family card can rest easier (she was planning on not doing cards this year...i knew she wouldnt be able to do it!ha.) after she got 2-3 cards mentioning "cant wait to see what you do this year"..the regret kicked in and were gonna be dreaming something up! I have the "wall of achievement" in the archway...every card gets posted up there as soon as i get them packaged and ready to roll..have done this for a while now-sometimes i just sit and stare and feel accomplishment...ha! really though i do....it looks like we get TONS of cards but really they are all mine that i printed an xtra for the wall! ha. Kristine's cute card did make it up there too today though..You must have a super clever card to get on "THE WALL"..ha!. Worn out as can be...just to sum up where i am at in the game at the moment! AND i still have to come up w/my cards...that is the kicker...kris will hate me during the process! However, it is looking up as i am sure most of my stores and regulars have noticed that i now have someone else handling most of the "customer service", shipping, etc...had to be done...love talking w/everyone but i just simply cannot fill orders, design, ship, and chat all in a day! Finally! Had loses a tooth!!!

Okay, so Hadly finally loses her first tooth at school the other day....she has eagerly awaited this day for quite some time! Kris is out of town and he of course is the first person she wants to call and tell...so i dial him up and let her break the news....then later everyone goes up to bed while i am holed up in the office printing christmas cards galore (needing to get another printer to run them both to try and keep up....ahhhh)...at around 4am i decide to stumble up to bed and i go in to check on each kiddo one by one...yes, i still check to be sure they are all breathing..even haydn who is 9! that's just me....I do it to Kris too...if he sleeps late on Saturday I sometimes go stare him right in the face to be sure he is alive...yes, i know im nuts!...soooo i make my way into Had's room and see a little note w/her tooth on it in the bed beside her (you can see the tooth in the pic if you look real close)...i start reading trying to make out what she is trying to say (not a perfect speller yet..but pretty good bc i figured it out!)...for the first couple of lines i was about to cry bc it was so sweet and she and I had argued as usual so i was feeling bad too....

"tooth fery, ples dont take my tooth

my daddy is spost (supposed) to see it"

at this point i am thinking ahhh...what a sweet baby girl...getting all sentimental...then i read on...

I started laughing my ars off and ran for the camera....had to document this one for daddy to see for real! THEN i am like oh crap i cannot let her wake up and the tooth fairy hasnt come soooo i run down to my purse to get some $ and all i have is 3 20's...the little turd got twenty bucks for her first tooth bc i had NOTHING ELSE..NOTTA...but the tooth fairy could NOT let her down! soooo needless to say, the tooth fery did leave her some cold hard cash..but she'll probably take it back this week for diet dr. peppers..ha!

okay, so i think i must be crazy! Don't get me wrong i LOVE all my stores, clients, business, etc....but i have NEVER worked sooooo hard in my life...ha! at least it's fun work huh? I never knew the "mad holiday rush" would start so soon! I got over 100 faxes in on sunday morning--from ONE store and all personalized tees....YIKES-and they havent stopped yet! actually, almost all of the ones from Sunday are done, but this season sho aint gonna be easy! If i didnt have any pride i'd post a photo of my office and me...hideous and catastrophic! oh well...I am now starting to stress over my own holiday cards....do i do pretty or fun w/a funky t on since i do send like 200...might as well have my stuff on it? eh, dunno yet....it will come to me i am sure though! One thing i DO KNOW is that no one should be expecting my card anytime before christmas eve....ha! seriously...okay, it is 2:55am and i have just been editing pics from all my recent sessions so ill post this little pretty girl...what an angel....yeah, looks are deceiving arent they Cass!? They should be in several of the stores by next week...well, that is if the kiddos and hubby cooperate this week and over the weekend..ha! so a fun time was had by all...but everyone of course missed Jill (she stayed in philly w/hutt....spent the day taping tootsie roll pops to her ivs and posing her w/candy bars...ha!---yes, perhaps she is a bit stir crazy but it did make for some funny first halloween pics if i do say so myself..ha!)....All the while, half of Knoxville was feasting on EITHER David or Shannon's chili...can't have both as it has turned into a "cookoff" between those two...For those of you who know David...realize that only DJ would walk into kmart ON halloween and come out w/ the psumo swiss maid and hippo bikini costumes....that is only a few certain people would dare to wear this soooo they were on clearance TODAY---but lucky for him..these were probably very close to EXACTLY WHAT HE WAS LOOKING FOR! ....Anyway, i could go on and on but a fun time was of course had by all and thought you'd enjoy a good laugh at some of these pics...pardon the poor pics....not a great "night photographer".

okay, so i think i am supposed to list 8 interesting facts about myself? Not sure i am all that interesting...but i'll give er' a shot:

1. I vacationed in the Caymans growing up and always told my dad i wanted to move there and work as a "waitress on the beach"...well, i did it while at UT w/ my friend Steph and told my roomies i was going to find my husband bc all the guys i dated in college sucked...they of course all thought i was nuts...but about 6 months laters he followed me home....4 kids later...here we are! Sometimes i think he secretly wants to escape back to the island! ha.

2. I AM CRAZY! Seriously i know some of my closest friends know and i have discussed but if i try and do things out of order during the day I CANT! I normally ship stuff out in the morning..the other day i had a meeting and went home in the afternoon and bc it wasnt "emtanner shipping hours" i could NOT do it...really not exaggerating....I repeat I AM CRAZY!

3. I am CRAZY For the smell of rubber tires (like in the big you know "tire stores")....okay this will really prove how crazy i am...i noticed this when pregnant w/the twins...i would go to work w/Kris (it was a tractor place that smelled like this) and just disappear and go huff rubber tires...Kris knew about this but i did it discreetly....i still do it! i mean i want to run over to the wal-mart tire dept. just typing about this...so NOT KIDDING about this either! If I could just make Yankee candle come out w/the rubber tire scent i'd be in HEAVEN!!

4. I prefer plastic silverware for ALL meals bc i cannot stand for metal to touch metal...i cant even be in a room during the holidays when everyone is cutting up food...at my parents everyone knows NOT to do this but when more people are around i just try and disappear rather than try and explain this wierd obsession...So excited...Kris just brought home 600 plastic spoons that werent used from a work seminar or something..yea!

5. I was supposed to be crippled...the doctors told my mom i wouldnt be able to walk bc of how i was doubled over while she was pregnant...came out and fooled them all! Havent stopped since...pretty sure after they saw what i was like that was why they decided to make me an "only child"...dad tells me this all the time..he also used to tell me my "real dad" was coming to pick me up...he would seriously let me get a suitcase and bawl! and his brother told me santa got killed on 411 (the kingston pike in maryville)...hell, no wonder i turned out like i did!

6.I have had maybe 8-10 zits EVER in my whole life! and i DIDNT get ONE SINGLE stretch mark after having 4 babies (and a twin pregnancy)...thanks mom!!--dr. newton says genetics is the only explanation for this one!

7. i am soooooooo totally addicted to diet dr. pepper....i am not even going to reveal how much of it i drink a day! cant even begin to function until after 2 of them in the morning!

8. EVERY NIGHT i lock myself in the bathroom and sit it my HOT HOT (i mean i look like i am scalded) cast iron (so it stays HOT...i think that's what it is called...cast iron???) tub and read either people or US or flip through catalogs or read photoshop mags/books for about 2 solid hours...i keep redrawing water and everyone in the house knows this is OFF LIMITS...they all leave me be! have always taken a bath...every night of my life!! get it from my auntie linda i think! in fact headed to watch the Hills and then retire to "the tub"...good night! egt

Just wanted to share the latest style art print that i have been wanting for myself for years and keep getting sidetracked..thanks to the collaboration of http://www.whiteballoonphotography.com/ and http://www.emtannerdesigns.com/ ...I got my butt in gear! We figured between the two of us there isnt much we can't offer! So call either of us (we are still separate companies but kind of joining forces if you will---we do have quite different styles as well...honestly, I would use on in the spring one in the fall to get a different look and feel...fun, huh? I mean i am hoping to get K to shoot my holiday pics bc i am interested to see what she sees and gets w/my kids that maybe i dont? NOT TOO PRETTY...For some wierd reason I have had several people who didnt know me when i was pregnant w/the twins...(even if you did most likely unless you came to me you didnt see me...my fat a** was laid up on the couch bawling hysterically over a baby story marathon everyday! ha. or calling Dr. Newton freaking out over stuff I saw on the show....i asked her questions that she had never seen...like, "what are the chances my babies will have shoulder dysplasia"...she would look at me like, "what the hell are you asking me that for"..ha!)ask me how the crap I carried twins and what i looked like... I love Dr. Newton, dont know how she got my paranoid butt through those 9 months! I know lots of you have been keeping up w/our friends, David & Jill Johnson's baby...you can get all the details on their site www.caringbridge.org/visit/huttonjohnson ....I am just giving everyone the "quick version update"...Hutton arrived this morning (september 11th) and she weighed seven pounds and two ounces...which i think is great! pretty big baby under the circumstances! She was immediately given a pacemaker and a couple of other procedures were done..please everyone continue to pray for David, Jill, Hutton, Cooper, Mary Lawson, Mimi & Reagan as this will be a tough time for them all...Hutton is such a miracle baby making it to this point so i personally have a great feeling about her! If I am correctly understanding the next 6 hours is going to be a very crucial time for her...here is her first photo...she looks like such a big and healthy little girl! I think she looks lots like her brother but anyone who knows the family knows that ALL of the JOHNSON'S look exactly alike..ha! even david & jill to some extent so who knows who she'll wind up looking like! Anyway, it's pretty touch and go right now so please continue to pray that everything continues to go well and Jill and Hutton can come home soon!

the hero of the day

Okay, i am at my wits end! My poor sweet little client Kristin Corbett had called and we were discussing a tee design for MAYBE 2 minutes when Henry brought me his silo (from his farm) filled w/hair...i wanted to puke....not sure what choice words sweet little Kristin heard but i think she understood when i panic strickenly filled her in as i went to assess the damage...ONLY to find hildy w/preschool scissors sawing off more hair...Henry was the hero for the day...i swear had he not come to me she would be bald!!! she was going to town....i screamed, got off the phone and sat in the floor hysterically bawling as they just stared at me!...next, of course call my mom hysterical...telling her she MUST get over here now....only to get her pissed at me for being my dramatic self....reminding me that no one is sick or hurt so get over it! then call Kris on the golf course w/4 nine year old boys...cant hardly even speak and i am still screaming and yelping i am sooooo upset...and from him i get...em, calm down...it's not like she is blowing through a tube to communicate...big f'n deal...so next on the list was my most dramatic friend Kat...who didnt answer the phone....i knew she'd hear me out and understand! then Sum...the bf since age 3 who is just as dramatic...she is like ...oh i totally understand why you are crying...that is awful..bless your heart...so that gave me some closure...one person who could understand my anguish! so, then the pics came...it was a dark day at the tanner house but of course i realized one that MAYBE, JUST MAYBE i will laught at in the future...probably FAR into the future though! I swear my mother in law and i had not an hour before discussed how beautiful Hildy's hair was..that keeps ringing in my head...key word being WAS! poor thing....i am awful...i always say Hildy is so what ..and she says "pretty" ...now i taught her Hildy's hair is what...she starts to say "pretty" out of habit and changes it to "ugly"...it's sad but kind of funny....so there it is...my boy's have the good hair of the house right now!

okay, this was HILARIOUS at the time...may not be able to explain...so my "biz partner" we'll call her...she's the one who makes me stop and think about cost efficiency and all the business stuff that doesnt just cross my mind all the time...so she finds the bubble wrap that i must order in order to wrap my lunchboxes and calendars "cost effectively"....so i come home and order exactly what she tells me (it's awesome to have someone just lay it out and say here's what you need to get where!!...and she's a smart cookie so i totally trust her)...sooooo i order it and they had said "oh you can just leave it here" bc honestly the biz has officially "outgrown" the tanner home!!! the hub would kill me if i move in one more stack of corrugated boxes or tees!!! anyway, long story short...it arrives at their biz on a TRANSFER TRUCK...we were doubled over laughing our butts off! it is stacked to the ceiling....Laura's response almost made me pee in my pants...she has this dry, funny humor....she walked in there and looked and says, " okay, that should be enough for about 2 calendars" and walked out...she CRACKS ME UP...i about died i was laughing sooooo hard....we threw Jason (the man behind the scenes that "makes it happen"...well when Laura tells him what to make happen..ha..just kidding J)...in the photo for a size marker...he's a normal size guy...not a shortie or anything too! looks like were shipping refrigerators doesnt it! my funky fridge...hmmm...theres an idea...ha!! just kidding!

before i get to the point of this blog....i must include my "shopping guide" for the BEST classic baby gift ever!! The oversized blah blah dolls...available LOCALLY at our favorite hip boutique The White Balloon...these humongo ones just "make" the room! henry & hildy LOOOOVE sleeping w/them and how cute will they be in their college dorm rooms?? seriously, these are classics that people will cherish forever i think! All i am ever gonna do for baby gifts....i normally get the medium one for baby gifts..she has mermaids, dogs, etc...look no further for that classic gift...and you can just swing by the gallery and pick it up...avoid all those crazy internet shopping shipping fees! I crack myself up...i am acting like i am Oprah...emtanner's top 10 baby shower products...ha! what a dork!

okay, so the babies were in their cribs w/the godawful crib tents that were ripped to shreds when we left to go to the beach....this is what is awaiting the little brats when they get home for their 3rd birthday from nana and pawpaw...their big boy and girl bedrooms..ha! Supernana went to work! LOVE IT! added that funky little twist to get my attention....we all know it CANT be "pretty" in my house....it has to be "fun" w/a touch of "funk"! Kris says it looks like we live in a kindergarten room because everywhere is so colorful and happy! Not sure ill ever have "grown up" taste per se...but that's okay i suppose! Oh, okay crashing i am soooo tired from shipping all day (big bulky stuff alone...having to hold one part of the box between my legs and try to slide on the top..nightmare...felt like i was on candid camera...cussing like a sailor too...but southern women dont curse right?)...anyway, what i was going to say was (see the pic of the WONDERFUL shelving unit w/ good ole' martha's metal bins in it for the babies clothes...well, supernana carried it up 2 flights of steep, old steps to get it in there...YES, BY HERSELF! go figure....i remember in college when Carly & I were moving ...we pulled up to the apartment i was moving out of only to catch a glimpse of Barb (aka supernana) at the top of the steps holding a loveseat strait up above her head...balancing it as she walked down the steps...super human things she does...really, ask all my college roomies...it happens quite often...! okay, so the room is GREAT...just wanted to share because it was clean so i took some pics...YES...you know why it was clean?! Supernana was here all day picking up for the cleaning lady who comes on thursdays! ha. I am so lucky arent i? everyone needs a supernana! i love my mommy.

Hadly has NEVER had bangs...so i had no clue how it would look...yesterday Kristine suggested taking the Kids to Kids fun cuts and having bangs cut to cover the godawful job she did....normally i would debate and debate...but i just went for it (heck it couldnt possibly get any worse!ha.)...of course i had all 4 kids and there was an hour wait...soooo i took them next door to salsaritas where we managed to spill 4 RED fountain drinks! I left there in a sweat..soooo i think that is why i didnt dwell on what i was doing too much...oh and henry had on undies and he crapped in them at the hair place....it was great! and Kris was gone (of course) so no break after all this..and Haydn had 100 page book (summer reading..ha) to finish when we got home at 7:45...oh well, the story of my life..anyway, i think she looks super cute..I might even like it better...anyway, i am just proud of myself for doing something so drastic with little or no thought...just not like my normal high strung self!

Of course just now getting to this and it's about...hmmm...3 months later...me and all my college girlies got together w/our little ones...sooo fun to see my close friends kids! Soooo strange how you see things that are just little mini copies of your friends...I guess since i was the first to have kids, my friends are just now starting to have theirs...sooo neat to see who they look like, who they act like, etc! Just loved this little pic...Jake winking-hysterical...he's such a funny little tyke--for some reason i pegged Jenn to have these little shy and timid girls---jokes on me--he is a rounder like Henry! Walt, Jake and Henry (ooh all of those are such cute "stud"ly names arent they?)....little boys just melt my heart!!! Unfortuneately we all dont get them all together that much but i hope we are able to always keep them close...makes is so much more special to have play dates w/your very best friends!!!

Had is a big 1st grader and Haydn is starting 3rd...WOW! It has flown by--sooo depressing but they do get more fun in different ways during the phases. It was DEFINITELY time for the Tanner kiddos! Bored, fighting, ahhhh...couldn't take another minute of it! Hopefully they had a great day and love their teachers! We'll see...next goal is to get the twins potty trained so each morning i can drop them off w/the big kids! WOO HOO won't be the expression i'd use for that day...that one will be more like a "Praise good from whom all blessings flow" as my mom always bellows out! ha! Cross your fingers! ...and offer tips if you have any...very desperate situation this is!

Sooooooo NOT FUNNY YET! I know everyone who sees this is dying laughing but i can ASSURE YOU I AM NOT! She did this one other time and I remember i was soooo mean about it that even Jill was like "okay it's over give it a rest" and she would get mad about this stuff too! ...soooo you'd think the kid wouldnt do it again! After the fact, mom recalled Hadly saying she was gonna be Hannah Montana for halloween and mom said, "oh I'll get you a wig"...Hadly replied.."oh nana, i dont need a wig....we can just use my hair"....sooooo after a long night of trying to figure out what the heck she was thinking we have come to the conclusion that these are supposed to be Hannah Montana's blunt bangs! Hadly still claims Henry pulled her hair out! I mean she isnt gonna be cute to start first grade....anyone w/remedy ideas to salvage this "do" please Help! desperate and we all know i am a creative person and i cant come up w/any solution for this one! The only bright side to this i can find is that (which i am shocked bc my girls lock themselves in the bathroom and play beauty shop) i dont have a Hildy Montana too....I would have flown off the handle for sure! I guess if you can pay someone to design it you gotta be able to afford the postage...my mental philosophy..ha! Not much time to "blog" w/4 kids home all summer! ha. Have TONS of pics to share from the beach but it will take me ages to get them all proofed and up...but i will share! Here are some "goodies" from our trip in July...Had a great, relaxing vacay this year! Stayed out of the "chaos"...in little quiet seagrove! LOVED IT! Probably wont stay anywhere else! Rented a house w/pool and really just vegged for 10 days! Well, i did take my laptop but did limit myself! I'm sure all the funny stories will come to me...just not at 1:27am! ha. Just got my humongo printer filled up w/it's gizillion dollar ink tanks and have been sittin here ever since printing, printing, printing...soooo fun to have your own little lab! just not enough walls! ha. Surviving the last few days of summer....and i mean that literally...S-U-R-V-I-V-I-N-G!...Kris travelling, we have all 6 had the stomach bug for the past week and the power was out today for a good 2.5 hours...hot as H-E double L in here! It's time! I think i hear the thackston school bell ringing as we speak!!! More soon!

Today, we have been happily (most of the time..ha) married for 8 years....(8 Loooooonnnnng years as Kris claims)...I cannot imagine being married to me...i am probably the biggest pain in the ass, high maintenance wife out there....ie...i HAVE to have my diet dr. peppers in the 20 ounce bottles, no cans, not ice and 2 liters...yep, a royal pain in the ass! I just think mom and dad are still shocked that there was someone out there who would have me..ha! really! So, congrads Kristoff for putting up w/me...he deserves it! I am in hiding in a hotel room in Richmond, VA ...sittin on my butt watching the today show, going to movies...doing WHATEVER i want and it is great! anyway...Happy Anniversary to Us!

Summer Camp Bound?...Or not?...

hmmm probably not....I have approximately one week to interest Henry & Hildy in the potty as they have to be potty trained to go to Thackston Summer Camp! AHHHHH...Don't they just look soooo interested..ha! If I were a bettin' woman, I think I'd put my money on Hildy...wouldnt ya say? If anyone has a quick solution pls fill me in! Kris & I are off to Virginia Beach for the week and so they will be at nana's so maybe, just maybe shell whip em' into shape! No pressure mom! They are cute in undies though arent they? Henry wants to wear his backwards so he can see the "wacecars". I think Lulu's are on backwards in the pic too..they look skin tight but i think it's cause they are on wrong..ha!

Oh my gosh! Kris and I cannot handle whiners! And now it looks like we got one! It drives us NUTS because all the other tanners are rough and tough! It is a good thing this child is GORGEOUS (probably shouldnt say that since she's mine..but heck she is!) bc she is a full blown WHINER! She hangs on my leg all day and whines! Love her to death but she's gonna have to "toughen up" to survive this chaos..ha! Haydn & Nana put up w/Lulu's whining bc they are both obsessed w/this child..ha! It's strange how Hadly & Henry are 2 peas in a pod and play together all the time and Haydn & Hildy are close? I would have thought it would be the other way around?? Any one know how to break a whiner?...Let me know!

through our first movie ....well, we had taken them before but i ended up leaving w/the babies...so this was the first time we got to stay till the credits rolled! monumental moment as this is one of my favorite family pastimes! I think it is because i can just sit and not chase everyone around wondering which people they talk to are pedofiles! Yes, i am a tad bit paranoid and always survey the situation before putting myself w/4 kids in it..ha! I think i get this from my paranoid dad! Anyway, they were soooo adorable watching Shrek! Henry ate enough candy to kill someone! Poor little Hildy lou couldnt hold down the seat bc she is such a tiblet...but two ton Henry didnt have that problem..ha! Amazingly, nothing funny happened to mention..just cute and fun. I think Kris and I were just waiting for all hell to break loose and make a quick exit throught the emergency doors..ha! Oops, and i almost forgot if anywone NEEDS the jeans, glow in the dark skull/crossbone Punk Kid tees, or Mogan and Milo skull/crossbone vans that are to die for cute you can get them at www.thewhiteballoon.com! Had to get that in..ha!

Okay, weak mommy moment yesterday...we got the biggest redneck summer product..the slip and slide..ha! i think that's what they call these things..ha! Just look at the photos (invision the wrought iron fence gone and the seaside tee of course..ha) and you got redneck summertime fun...hildy in the saggy diaper (mommy didnt even do the swim diaper) and henry w/the cute buns hangin' out...haydn commando w/basketball shorts and hadly an oversized tee and panties! ha...heck i dont know maybe we ARE rednecks! The pick up truck in the background makes it too...although Steve and Eleanor's yard is perfect 100% of the time he just has the truck there for something he is working on..ha! ...

"Crystal...Teeefany (tidwell will be the only one that gets this..ha)...Rusty and Bobby Kris Jr...time to come in for lunch!"...Gosh, i crack myself up! ha.

hmm...wonder why? He is sooo gonna hate her for this one day! (at least I hope he is..ha!)...this was last Saturday morning at the Tanner house...needless to say...as i watched from the kitchen as Kris read his paper and drank his mountain dew-he did a very FAST double take as his "cheeleaders" filed past him and down the steps to go over some new cheers! I was crying laughing in the floor! His face was PRICELESS...we won't call it one of daddy's proud moments i dont think..ha! You just never know what's next around this circus!

Okay Kristine...you inspired me! I must admit I have gotten into reading my friend's newly set up blog and now i am interested....i get soooo tired of constantly trying to keep everyone updated w/photos of my kids and what funny things are happening around this place-how much easier will this be! However, I was making fun of my friend less than 2 weeks ago trying to figure out what this whole "blog thing" really is? It's kinda cool! Sooooo my blog is just going to be keeping the world updated on the craziness that 4 kids, a business,a traveling hubby, and a dog will bring to your life!....and of course share some of my photography and products...always thinkin' biz in the back of this crazy head! Yes, I am crazy and no one will believe me..ha! This will NOT and i repeat NOT be grammatically correct or deep..ha! Math Whiz..suck at English and try to think on the surface!
