Baby Hutton Johnson is here!

I know lots of you have been keeping up w/our friends, David & Jill Johnson's baby...you can get all the details on their site www.caringbridge.org/visit/huttonjohnson ....I am just giving everyone the "quick version update"...Hutton arrived this morning (september 11th) and she weighed seven pounds and two ounces...which i think is great! pretty big baby under the circumstances! She was immediately given a pacemaker and a couple of other procedures were done..please everyone continue to pray for David, Jill, Hutton, Cooper, Mary Lawson, Mimi & Reagan as this will be a tough time for them all...Hutton is such a miracle baby making it to this point so i personally have a great feeling about her! If I am correctly understanding the next 6 hours is going to be a very crucial time for her...here is her first photo...she looks like such a big and healthy little girl! I think she looks lots like her brother but anyone who knows the family knows that ALL of the JOHNSON'S look exactly alike..ha! even david & jill to some extent so who knows who she'll wind up looking like! Anyway, it's pretty touch and go right now so please continue to pray that everything continues to go well and Jill and Hutton can come home soon!

the hero of the day

Okay, i am at my wits end! My poor sweet little client Kristin Corbett had called and we were discussing a tee design for MAYBE 2 minutes when Henry brought me his silo (from his farm) filled w/hair...i wanted to puke....not sure what choice words sweet little Kristin heard but i think she understood when i panic strickenly filled her in as i went to assess the damage...ONLY to find hildy w/preschool scissors sawing off more hair...Henry was the hero for the day...i swear had he not come to me she would be bald!!! she was going to town....i screamed, got off the phone and sat in the floor hysterically bawling as they just stared at me!...next, of course call my mom hysterical...telling her she MUST get over here now....only to get her pissed at me for being my dramatic self....reminding me that no one is sick or hurt so get over it! then call Kris on the golf course w/4 nine year old boys...cant hardly even speak and i am still screaming and yelping i am sooooo upset...and from him i get...em, calm down...it's not like she is blowing through a tube to communicate...big f'n deal...so next on the list was my most dramatic friend Kat...who didnt answer the phone....i knew she'd hear me out and understand! then Sum...the bf since age 3 who is just as dramatic...she is like ...oh i totally understand why you are crying...that is awful..bless your heart...so that gave me some closure...one person who could understand my anguish! so, then the pics came...it was a dark day at the tanner house but of course i realized one that MAYBE, JUST MAYBE i will laught at in the future...probably FAR into the future though! I swear my mother in law and i had not an hour before discussed how beautiful Hildy's hair was..that keeps ringing in my head...key word being WAS! poor thing....i am awful...i always say Hildy is so what ..and she says "pretty" ...now i taught her Hildy's hair is what...she starts to say "pretty" out of habit and changes it to "ugly"...it's sad but kind of funny....so there it is...my boy's have the good hair of the house right now!

Double your Bubble....

okay, this was HILARIOUS at the time...may not be able to explain...so my "biz partner" we'll call her...she's the one who makes me stop and think about cost efficiency and all the business stuff that doesnt just cross my mind all the time...so she finds the bubble wrap that i must order in order to wrap my lunchboxes and calendars "cost effectively"....so i come home and order exactly what she tells me (it's awesome to have someone just lay it out and say here's what you need to get where!!...and she's a smart cookie so i totally trust her)...sooooo i order it and they had said "oh you can just leave it here" bc honestly the biz has officially "outgrown" the tanner home!!! the hub would kill me if i move in one more stack of corrugated boxes or tees!!! anyway, long story short...it arrives at their biz on a TRANSFER TRUCK...we were doubled over laughing our butts off! it is stacked to the ceiling....Laura's response almost made me pee in my pants...she has this dry, funny humor....she walked in there and looked and says, " okay, that should be enough for about 2 calendars" and walked out...she CRACKS ME UP...i about died i was laughing sooooo hard....we threw Jason (the man behind the scenes that "makes it happen"...well when Laura tells him what to make happen..ha..just kidding J)...in the photo for a size marker...he's a normal size guy...not a shortie or anything too! looks like were shipping refrigerators doesnt it! my funky fridge...hmmm...theres an idea...ha!! just kidding!

It's SUPERNANA!...

before i get to the point of this blog....i must include my "shopping guide" for the BEST classic baby gift ever!! The oversized blah blah dolls...available LOCALLY at our favorite hip boutique The White Balloon...these humongo ones just "make" the room! henry & hildy LOOOOVE sleeping w/them and how cute will they be in their college dorm rooms?? seriously, these are classics that people will cherish forever i think! All i am ever gonna do for baby gifts....i normally get the medium one for baby gifts..she has mermaids, dogs, etc...look no further for that classic gift...and you can just swing by the gallery and pick it up...avoid all those crazy internet shopping shipping fees! I crack myself up...i am acting like i am Oprah...emtanner's top 10 baby shower products...ha! what a dork!

okay, so the babies were in their cribs w/the godawful crib tents that were ripped to shreds when we left to go to the beach....this is what is awaiting the little brats when they get home for their 3rd birthday from nana and pawpaw...their big boy and girl bedrooms..ha! Supernana went to work! LOVE IT! added that funky little twist to get my attention....we all know it CANT be "pretty" in my house....it has to be "fun" w/a touch of "funk"! Kris says it looks like we live in a kindergarten room because everywhere is so colorful and happy! Not sure ill ever have "grown up" taste per se...but that's okay i suppose! Oh, okay crashing i am soooo tired from shipping all day (big bulky stuff alone...having to hold one part of the box between my legs and try to slide on the top..nightmare...felt like i was on candid camera...cussing like a sailor too...but southern women dont curse right?)...anyway, what i was going to say was (see the pic of the WONDERFUL shelving unit w/ good ole' martha's metal bins in it for the babies clothes...well, supernana carried it up 2 flights of steep, old steps to get it in there...YES, BY HERSELF! go figure....i remember in college when Carly & I were moving ...we pulled up to the apartment i was moving out of only to catch a glimpse of Barb (aka supernana) at the top of the steps holding a loveseat strait up above her head...balancing it as she walked down the steps...super human things she does...really, ask all my college roomies...it happens quite often...! okay, so the room is GREAT...just wanted to share because it was clean so i took some pics...YES...you know why it was clean?! Supernana was here all day picking up for the cleaning lady who comes on thursdays! ha. I am so lucky arent i? everyone needs a supernana! i love my mommy.

Lunchbox Central...

welcome to the em tannerdesigns "sweat shop"...little did i know my crazy lunchboxes would be this popular! the boxes are full too! even w/a knockoff version out there they are still going strong...ha! Why does everyone want their stuff to look like someone else's??? I am soooo not gettin' it....i want mine to NOT look like everyone else's --that's what makes it work...people...start using your OWN ideas not mine or some other designers! Think outside the box--they'll come to you...but not until you decide to do it by YOURSELF...okay, off the soapbox now. Now i just have to figure out where to ship them all...YIKES! This stuff is gettin' craaazzzyyy! good night!

I did it!...

Hadly has NEVER had bangs...so i had no clue how it would look...yesterday Kristine suggested taking the Kids to Kids fun cuts and having bangs cut to cover the godawful job she did....normally i would debate and debate...but i just went for it (heck it couldnt possibly get any worse!ha.)...of course i had all 4 kids and there was an hour wait...soooo i took them next door to salsaritas where we managed to spill 4 RED fountain drinks! I left there in a sweat..soooo i think that is why i didnt dwell on what i was doing too much...oh and henry had on undies and he crapped in them at the hair place....it was great! and Kris was gone (of course) so no break after all this..and Haydn had 100 page book (summer reading..ha) to finish when we got home at 7:45...oh well, the story of my life..anyway, i think she looks super cute..I might even like it better...anyway, i am just proud of myself for doing something so drastic with little or no thought...just not like my normal high strung self!
