Freeze Frame!...

i am driving my household NUTS (except for the babies of course-they got to jump on their beds for 30 minutes..ha!)...working on a foolproof freeze w/my camera for inside shots...making everyone move rapidly in different areas..i am being very annoying but i cant stop until i get it..just my personality...i even get on my own nerves at times!! the babies actually enjoyed getting to jump on the bed...and i liked this shot! I got a crystal clear action shot of Kris' middle finger when it was his turn to give me some action..didnt think i'd post that! ha! time to read my new people and US in the tub for 2 hours...happy new year to ME!!

London Tipton is really great....this is ringing in my head as i edit pics from our shoot today...2 crazy 6 year old girls sang this song ALL DAY LONG! ha...but it was way worth it...what a super FUN day we had! me and my friend/photography buddy/biz partner/etc...took our girls out to many cool spots we have found and been wanting to do...what a great excuse to get the girls together...they THINK they are playing bc they are together but we (the photography mommas) are having a hayday while they act goofy together...you see, everybody WINS...well except for Kris who was home w/the other 3 kids...Clay got to be "home alone"..ha! sorry Kris but it was sooooo much fun! may have to be a twice a month or so outing! check out these little cute thangs! gotta run assemble Jill's cards (finally) and watch the nanny diaries...gotta get some R&R...good night...lots more fun fun stuff from this shoot to come!

It finally came to me!!!...

my christmas card that is! This morning as i was stashing envelopes on thackston's porch for a client to pick up it hit me....i make waaaayyyy to big of a deal out of our cards ....BUT i do like to come up with completely ORIGINAL ideas that are MINE and come from my crazy head! And this one is crazy...not the actual card but what we did to accomplish this! After they are mailed i will reveal the funny part so check back! It's actually quite brilliant in an insane sort of way! For now I know this makes zip zilch notta sense BUT I am excited about my cards bc i am finally liking the idea once the lightbulb went off...here is a little sneak peek into the card..not much though..it's gonna be cute even if it's 2008 when you get them! hopefully not but i am still not quite finished w/the work part...whew..worn a double s out!

Taking mental break from ....

editing shoots, tees, cards, cutting, scoring, printing...ahhhh....really MUST finish....or i am gonna go crazy...just never seem to be getting to the bottom of the Christmas piles! Only about 7 more sets of cards to get out...im a gettin' there! woo hoo! Oh and Jill's...everyone eagerly anticipating the johnson family card can rest easier (she was planning on not doing cards this year...i knew she wouldnt be able to do it!ha.) after she got 2-3 cards mentioning "cant wait to see what you do this year"..the regret kicked in and were gonna be dreaming something up! I have the "wall of achievement" in the archway...every card gets posted up there as soon as i get them packaged and ready to roll..have done this for a while now-sometimes i just sit and stare and feel accomplishment...ha! really though i do....it looks like we get TONS of cards but really they are all mine that i printed an xtra for the wall! ha. Kristine's cute card did make it up there too today though..You must have a super clever card to get on "THE WALL"..ha!. Worn out as can be...just to sum up where i am at in the game at the moment! AND i still have to come up w/my cards...that is the kicker...kris will hate me during the process! However, it is looking up as i am sure most of my stores and regulars have noticed that i now have someone else handling most of the "customer service", shipping, etc...had to be done...love talking w/everyone but i just simply cannot fill orders, design, ship, and chat all in a day! So best bet to reach me these days for biz purposes is to shoot me an email to emtannerdesigns@yahoo.com (note this is a new address...have to separate personal from biz at this point to be efficient)...we are VERY timely on answering emails...both Laura and myself have access to this and check it throughout the day...Here is a darling pic of a darling little girlie i just thought i'd post...

Finally! Had loses a tooth!!!

Okay, so Hadly finally loses her first tooth at school the other day....she has eagerly awaited this day for quite some time! Kris is out of town and he of course is the first person she wants to call and tell...so i dial him up and let her break the news....then later everyone goes up to bed while i am holed up in the office printing christmas cards galore (needing to get another printer to run them both to try and keep up....ahhhh)...at around 4am i decide to stumble up to bed and i go in to check on each kiddo one by one...yes, i still check to be sure they are all breathing..even haydn who is 9! that's just me....I do it to Kris too...if he sleeps late on Saturday I sometimes go stare him right in the face to be sure he is alive...yes, i know im nuts!...soooo i make my way into Had's room and see a little note w/her tooth on it in the bed beside her (you can see the tooth in the pic if you look real close)...i start reading trying to make out what she is trying to say (not a perfect speller yet..but pretty good bc i figured it out!)...for the first couple of lines i was about to cry bc it was so sweet and she and I had argued as usual so i was feeling bad too....

"tooth fery, ples dont take my tooth

my daddy is spost (supposed) to see it"

at this point i am thinking ahhh...what a sweet baby girl...getting all sentimental...then i read on...

"but leave me some cash"

I started laughing my ars off and ran for the camera....had to document this one for daddy to see for real! THEN i am like oh crap i cannot let her wake up and the tooth fairy hasnt come soooo i run down to my purse to get some $ and all i have is 3 20's...the little turd got twenty bucks for her first tooth bc i had NOTHING ELSE..NOTTA...but the tooth fairy could NOT let her down! soooo needless to say, the tooth fery did leave her some cold hard cash..but she'll probably take it back this week for diet dr. peppers..ha!

I had NO clue!!!

okay, so i think i must be crazy! Don't get me wrong i LOVE all my stores, clients, business, etc....but i have NEVER worked sooooo hard in my life...ha! at least it's fun work huh? I never knew the "mad holiday rush" would start so soon! I got over 100 faxes in on sunday morning--from ONE store and all personalized tees....YIKES-and they havent stopped yet! actually, almost all of the ones from Sunday are done, but this season sho aint gonna be easy! If i didnt have any pride i'd post a photo of my office and me...hideous and catastrophic! oh well...I am now starting to stress over my own holiday cards....do i do pretty or fun w/a funky t on since i do send like 200...might as well have my stuff on it? eh, dunno yet....it will come to me i am sure though! One thing i DO KNOW is that no one should be expecting my card anytime before christmas eve....ha! seriously...okay, it is 2:55am and i have just been editing pics from all my recent sessions so ill post this little pretty girl...what an angel....yeah, looks are deceiving arent they Cass!? Have a good one...heck i might as well just stay up and start friday...who knows.

yea! here we "grow" again...okay-what a cheeseball! ...anyway, got this great new store gig in Atlanta....multi location store....It just looks like my kinda place...cant wait to go check it out and shop there...Limetree gifts is the more grown up store and Lil' Squeeze is the kiddo version...how freaking cute is that! Another very cool, hip mom store owner...looking forward to working with her! They should be in several of the stores by next week...well, that is if the kiddos and hubby cooperate this week and over the weekend..ha! Bottomline, if you are in the atlanta area or traveling through there i think this is a "must stop" kind of boutique!

This!....Oh how excited i am about my new washer and dryer...My sweet little momma got it for me since my cleaning lady stopped cleaning (she was doing my laundry bc i just cannot keep up!)...mom thought this was the ticket and boy was she right...i FINISHED (which is unheard of in the tanner house) ALL of my laundry on saturday....holy cow, kristine was right...this is a life changing, fine piece O' machinery!

okay so the funny thing about this pic is DAJ in action....doesnt phase him that he is sporting a swiss milk maid dress w/ an air vent pumping and a wendy's blonde look alike plastic wig (possibly even had it on backwards)....and look at Mimi (one of his little chickens--the one by him in the blue dress....NOTHING AT ALL IS ABNORMAL TO HER EITHER! she's just hangin' w/daddy-o)...love the tennies and socks w/the dress too!

so a fun time was had by all...but everyone of course missed Jill (she stayed in philly w/hutt....spent the day taping tootsie roll pops to her ivs and posing her w/candy bars...ha!---yes, perhaps she is a bit stir crazy but it did make for some funny first halloween pics if i do say so myself..ha!)....All the while, half of Knoxville was feasting on EITHER David or Shannon's chili...can't have both as it has turned into a "cookoff" between those two...For those of you who know David...realize that only DJ would walk into kmart ON halloween and come out w/ the psumo swiss maid and hippo bikini costumes....that is only a few certain people would dare to wear this soooo they were on clearance TODAY---but lucky for him..these were probably very close to EXACTLY WHAT HE WAS LOOKING FOR! ....Anyway, i could go on and on but a fun time was of course had by all and thought you'd enjoy a good laugh at some of these pics...pardon the poor pics....not a great "night photographer".

okay, so this was HYSTERICAL! yep, my 9 year old decides he wants to be gene simmons! niiiccce...but you know i have grown to love gene and the simmons family jewels show...so we whipped it up...i think i did a pretty darn good job on the face! just thought id share...not sure we have a normal kid that decides to be luke skywalker, darth vadar or something like that...it was between the notre dame leprechan, bruce pearl, or gene simmons!? what the heck!

It's Closing in on us...

the holidays are swiftly approaching...just a reminder that b/c i have a whole xtra biz this year i am only taking on "so many" shoots so you had better get booked! I am already starting to "freak out" a tad bit...but i do plan on getting all caught up this weekend on the card orders that are making me nervous...Okay, so you'll probably want to get used to this face (pic above) b/c this kid takes "amazing" photographs and i may just plaster them all over knoxvegas bc/ there are sooooo many i love...good thing i've known her for a long time and have a personal friendship w/them b/c i may just hang them in my house too b/c i like the pics sooo much...ha! how funny would that be...ill have haydn, hadly, henry, hildy & keeleigh hanging over the couch! who knows, i really love them-and i love her too! okay, tired and giddy...later all. em

uh-oh ive been tagged...

okay, so i think i am supposed to list 8 interesting facts about myself? Not sure i am all that interesting...but i'll give er' a shot:

1. I vacationed in the Caymans growing up and always told my dad i wanted to move there and work as a "waitress on the beach"...well, i did it while at UT w/ my friend Steph and told my roomies i was going to find my husband bc all the guys i dated in college sucked...they of course all thought i was nuts...but about 6 months laters he followed me home....4 kids later...here we are! Sometimes i think he secretly wants to escape back to the island! ha.

2. I AM CRAZY! Seriously i know some of my closest friends know and i have discussed but if i try and do things out of order during the day I CANT! I normally ship stuff out in the morning..the other day i had a meeting and went home in the afternoon and bc it wasnt "emtanner shipping hours" i could NOT do it...really not exaggerating....I repeat I AM CRAZY!

3. I am CRAZY For the smell of rubber tires (like in the big you know "tire stores")....okay this will really prove how crazy i am...i noticed this when pregnant w/the twins...i would go to work w/Kris (it was a tractor place that smelled like this) and just disappear and go huff rubber tires...Kris knew about this but i did it discreetly....i still do it! i mean i want to run over to the wal-mart tire dept. just typing about this...so NOT KIDDING about this either! If I could just make Yankee candle come out w/the rubber tire scent i'd be in HEAVEN!!

4. I prefer plastic silverware for ALL meals bc i cannot stand for metal to touch metal...i cant even be in a room during the holidays when everyone is cutting up food...at my parents everyone knows NOT to do this but when more people are around i just try and disappear rather than try and explain this wierd obsession...So excited...Kris just brought home 600 plastic spoons that werent used from a work seminar or something..yea!

5. I was supposed to be crippled...the doctors told my mom i wouldnt be able to walk bc of how i was doubled over while she was pregnant...came out and fooled them all! Havent stopped since...pretty sure after they saw what i was like that was why they decided to make me an "only child"...dad tells me this all the time..he also used to tell me my "real dad" was coming to pick me up...he would seriously let me get a suitcase and bawl! and his brother told me santa got killed on 411 (the kingston pike in maryville)...hell, no wonder i turned out like i did!

6.I have had maybe 8-10 zits EVER in my whole life! and i DIDNT get ONE SINGLE stretch mark after having 4 babies (and a twin pregnancy)...thanks mom!!--dr. newton says genetics is the only explanation for this one!

7. i am soooooooo totally addicted to diet dr. pepper....i am not even going to reveal how much of it i drink a day! cant even begin to function until after 2 of them in the morning!

8. EVERY NIGHT i lock myself in the bathroom and sit it my HOT HOT (i mean i look like i am scalded) cast iron (so it stays HOT...i think that's what it is called...cast iron???) tub and read either people or US or flip through catalogs or read photoshop mags/books for about 2 solid hours...i keep redrawing water and everyone in the house knows this is OFF LIMITS...they all leave me be! have always taken a bath...every night of my life!! get it from my auntie linda i think! in fact headed to watch the Hills and then retire to "the tub"...good night! egt

Hadly dress Henry up in his best get up....(well, actually it is her school uniform pants and button down w/haydn's tie)...how freakin' cute is this?! the latest product....

just don't ask me how much it costs yet! ha. Just wanted to share the latest style art print that i have been wanting for myself for years and keep getting sidetracked..thanks to the collaboration of http://www.whiteballoonphotography.com/ and http://www.emtannerdesigns.com/ ...I got my butt in gear! We figured between the two of us there isnt much we can't offer! So call either of us (we are still separate companies but kind of joining forces if you will---we do have quite different styles as well...honestly, I would use on in the spring one in the fall to get a different look and feel...fun, huh? I mean i am hoping to get K to shoot my holiday pics bc i am interested to see what she sees and gets w/my kids that maybe i dont? Even though i do photography...everyone thinks i am nuts for using other photographers but it's really neat to see the different perspectives when you do this stuff yourself! Already a tad backed up...have like 5- 100 card orders to fill this week (LOVE my early peeps! as i cut, print, the whole 9 yards myself)....so if you are seeing an emtannerdesigns holiday card in the works for your family you'd better try and email me in the next couple of weeks...really NOT using the "limited" marketing scheme..my time IS limited these days...ha! It's Fall Photo Shoot Time!...

what does a twin pregnancy look like?...

NOT TOO PRETTY...For some wierd reason I have had several people who didnt know me when i was pregnant w/the twins...(even if you did most likely unless you came to me you didnt see me...my fat a** was laid up on the couch bawling hysterically over a baby story marathon everyday! ha. or calling Dr. Newton freaking out over stuff I saw on the show....i asked her questions that she had never seen...like, "what are the chances my babies will have shoulder dysplasia"...she would look at me like, "what the hell are you asking me that for"..ha!)ask me how the crap I carried twins and what i looked like... I love Dr. Newton, dont know how she got my paranoid butt through those 9 months! Anyway, I dug these pics up for a friend who had twins recently and thought they were hilarious so i thought i'd give you all your laugh for the day! Here goes it! Enjoy at my expense...
